It’s reveal day, woo hoo!!  This room as been a work in progress for a while and I’m really excited to share the full makeover with y’all today!! I’m going to share all our source info, what we did, along with all our before and after photos… so here goes!!

This was my mood board for this space, if you want to read all about my inspiration and design challenges around this room be sure to check out this post!!

This room has come SOOO far and we love it!!  We spend so much more time in this space now!  We really enjoy having a movie night up here on Friday’s when it is too cold to be outside by the fire and it feels so cozy!  Enough talking! This is the view of the room when you walk in the door.

One of the most challenging parts of this space was the size of the room.  This space is very small but also has a rather large closet that we needed to work around.

With the challenging room size I knew we needed a new solution for the wall with the tv.

Y’all just writing this post right now and seeing the big change this room has had just makes me so happy!!  Since we wanted to update so much in our house we decided to focus on one room at a time and I couldn’t be more excited about how this space turned out!  We still have a few things we need to do, like hide all of the tv cords and get new/ multiple baskets for under the shelves, but we will get to that another day, for now it is time to celebrate!

I’m sure that most of you have favorite stores that are considered the “go to” but I figured I would share all the details from this space with you!  Some are local and some aren’t but for those of you in the Charlotte area maybe you will be interested in some of them.

Couch: Pottery Barn Outlet- The Pottery Barn Outlet in Gaffney, SC also sells West Elm.  We scored this 2-piece leather West Elm sectional with the tags still on it for under $500, that was a good day!

New Pillows: Home Goods- Y’all I can’t even tell you how excited I was whenever I found these!!  All three have some kind of caramel colored leather detail on them that helped tie into the legs of the couch perfectly.

Charlotte Newspapers: Cox Auction Company- This is a hike for us but sometimes it is just worth the drive and late night!  They put most of the items online before the sale so you can decide if it is worth your time or not, which is really nice!

Wood side table:  DIY & The Shops at Rivers Edge.  The stump was a part of Haylie’s wedding reception decor that she let me have that we turned into a side table with the wall hanger that was purchased.  Link on how to create the side table is at the bottom of this post.

Basket & Blankets: Home Goods- Again with that leather detail, I just love it!

Barn Wood Shelves: The Depot at Gibson Mill and Amazon.  We picked up the barn wood from The Depot randomly one day because it was just so pretty, and it turned out to be perfect for this project!  Once we had the wood we ordered the brackets from Amazon! These are the brackets we used.

Shelf decor: The items on this shelf have a lot of meaning to Daniel and I.  I could write an entire post just on these items I’m pretty sure, but that is for a different day!  For now I will give you a few favorites.  The white church birdhouse was given to Daniel by his almost 90 year old Grandpa, “Pop”, that he made special for him.  I hope that as I get older I will be as incredible as that man!!  The jars were pulled out from under my Grandmothers house that my late Grandfather stored under there for some reason a long time ago.  She didn’t understand why we loved them,  or the license plates we found  in her shed but we cleaned them up and here they sit.  On the second shelf sits Abraham Lincoln, a gift from one of Daniel’s best friends, from his favorite trip in college they went on together. To the right is a shadow box that he was recently given of his Great Grandfathers war items by his Grandmother.  For someone who loves history this is very special to him!!  As you move up the wall he has a lot of signed photos and a Gamecock football signed by Conner Shaw, each he has picked up over time.  All in all this wall is really special to us both because of the memories that it holds.

TV bracket: Amazon, link here.

Lamp: Home Goods- I am one of those people who will buy anything I like at Home Goods and return it if it doesn’t work, I wasn’t sure about this when we found it because of the gold details but it works well with the room!

Curtains: I found the curtain rod first at Home Goods and then searched for the perfect curtains.  I purchased at least 4 before I found these that I loved!  These are from Target.

So here are a few more photos of the makeover 🙂

That is the full tour y’all!  If you wanted to read the inspiration behind this space check out this post, and if you want to know paint colors and see my how-to’s be sure to read this one!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and a very safe holiday weekend!! Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday of the year and I can’t wait to spend it with our family!!
