BONUS ROOM MOOD BOARD

by Amber

Our bonus room has been a little more challenging than I would have thought.  It started in our FROG room (for definition of FROG room see the link to that post below) and was then moved into the other guest bedroom.  It has paint samples on the wall and has looked really sad for far too long.  Let’s talk about the plan for this space!

ORIGINAL BONUS ROOM

This was the original bonus room before it was turned into the guest room.

We had a lot of wasted space in our Frog room when it was our bonus room and our second guest bedroom was pretty cramped so we decided to switch the spaces. For more info on our Guest Bedroom check it out here. We are trilled with how it turned out and are excited to get started on our new challenge; the bonus room.

CURRENT BONUS ROOM

This is what the new bonus room looks like now and why it needs a lot of love.  This space is much smaller than the original space.  This is the view from the door, the small wall to the left is the bedroom closet.

Second view from the door, notice the closet doors on the left.Last view is towards the tv looking from the couch.

CHALLENGES & IDEAS

Because this space is very small, we wanted to add shelves instead of the very large tv stand, and mount the tv to the wall. I turned to Pinterest of course, for some ideas so that Daniel and I could make some decisions.  These were some of my favorites.

Love these shelves with the galvanized pipe.

This was another shot with the galvanized pipe that I really liked.

Love love love these brackets!  Haylie is using them for her laundry room makeover, stay turned, I’m super jealous!

This is a really pretty room, I love the darker walls with the mild pattern and modern grey couch.

I would like a side table or coffee table but we honestly don’t have the space, I need to come up with something for this problem.  I do love this hanging side table that was on Fixer Upper.

THE PLAN

This is the list of what our wants/ needs look like:

  • Paint the room
  • Mount tv to the wall
  • Create custom shelves of some kind
  • Find a side table solution
  • Hang art throughout room
  • Add curtains
  • Decorate shelves

To follow along with the updates to this room see the projects post here, or the finished reveal here.
